ISC’s Partnership with Hiscox Delivers More Coverage Solutions with Market-Leading Digital Platform


ISC’s Wholesale Division provides ISC appointed agencies a broader product base outside our program business offerings. You gain immediate access so you can quote and bind various products with Hiscox NOW, a digital platform that enables you to obtain Business Owner’s Policy (BOP), General Liability (GL), Cyber Security, and Professional Liability for your clients.

Agents can access the Hiscox platform for coverage in the majority of states, with additional states continually being added.

“We are known for pioneering the digital quote and bind platform for small businesses and more recently we launched a completely revamped platform that includes expanded product offerings” said Scott Gibson, Partner, Onboarding and Success Manager at Hiscox. There are 380-plus business classes in the BOP program and more than 480 classes of business for Cyber currently available on the Hiscox NOW platform.

All products are offered on admitted paper with both monoline basis bundled products available.  Quotes are instantaneous, and policy documents are emailed within minutes of issuance.

“In addition, we have capability to automatically renew products,” with the renewal sent to the insured, agency, and ISC. If there are any changes or questions that arise before renewal, we will notify the agent,” said Morgan Holmes, Partnership Manager at Hiscox.

Morgan also noted that Hiscox handles all servicing and billing. Insureds and agencies can call Hiscox directly or Agents can opt to manage their insureds’ policies online as an alternative.

Client satisfaction is behind Hiscox’s success and is reflected in its monthly renewal retention rate. “We are excellent at handling renewals on behalf of ISC agents, streamlining the process and reducing the touch points typically involved,” said Scott.

Key Product Features

New ventures and startups are welcome in Hiscox’s eligible classes. Work-from-home discounts are available and may contribute to premium savings for a Hiscox insured.

Automatic Blanket Additional Insured coverage for all four of the above products is included at no additional charge. In addition, there are various deductible options available for each policy. Insureds have different payment options available, with the ability to pay monthly, quarterly, semiannually, and annually.

“The BOP product comes with industry-tailored enhancements, with some of our high-performing classes in retail, mobile food services, photography, nonprofits, real estate, and social work,” said Morgan.

Hiscox’s Professional Liability market is strong with top performers that include insurance agencies, accounting, property management, tax preparation, business management services, event planning, mental health consulting, and social work services.

An Agent can access Hiscox’s digital guide to see what products are available for each business class in each state. “There are many cross-selling opportunities for various products,” explained Morgan. “You can also compare quotes; for example, an agent looking for a GL quote can compare it with a BOP and determine if it’s more cost effective to provide clients with both Liability and Property coverage.”

The ISC-Hiscox Advantage

ISC pays our agency partners 15% commission on all Hiscox products, which is higher than what’s available via most other avenues. In addition, agents also receive a 15% commission throughout the policy’s lifetime.

Customizable marketing material is available on the Hiscox-ISC portal under the Resources tab. You can brand the marketing with your logo to send to prospects for new business and to clients for cross-selling opportunities. “You can choose which material to use based on the industry you’re seeking to expand in,” said Morgan. Webinars are also available for marketing and educational purposes.

ISC also provides a chat window for agents looking for a quick answer. “We have six licensed advisors who manage the chat window, which is a valuable feature of our digital offering,” said Scott.
